To reversing our carbon-footprint | Komorebi

A linen shirt, as light and breathable as it feels, carries with it a carbon footprint- between 6 to 15 kg of CO₂. To offset this, we partnered with Gaia Grid to plant trees.

But planting trees was just the start; through the wisdom shared by Harsh, we’ve learned about guilds, an eco-system of sister plants and herbs that help a tree thrive, about how true impact lies beyond just planting, but in nurturing these trees to maturity. A tree, planted AND nurtured for every garment sold.

We guess this is how true collaboration is not just the sum of individual efforts, but something more. We call this continued conversation, a collaboration of ours, "Komorebi," inspired by the play of light through leaves.

Trees are poems, the earth writes upon the sky.
We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.
~ Khalil Gibran

You see, trees are more than just carbon sponges; they are living poems. Our hope is that our shirts will be cherished long enough to make their impact worthwhile.

In a world of excess, perhaps we need fewer clothes and more poems. but if we must make them, we'll ensure that the ones we make are beautiful, and with every shirt, we plant not just a tree, but another poem for the earth.
