As readers, we have heard, read and experienced the whole 'Don't judge a book by its cover'. While we heartily agree with judging not, we also enjoy opening presents. A pull on the ribbon to untie it, a flower, the unwrapping of the paper and the final unveil of the gift as it slowly comes into the view. Touch, sound, smell and sight.
The unwrapping process has sometimes slowed me down enough to reminisce on the memories I share with my gift giver. Sometimes, it has brought unexpected, totally embarrassing tears. It is like a great surprise party that you have no clue about. A reminder that we are worthy of not just the present in our hands but also honoured with their precious time.
